LUAN Live Session

The effects of beauty are called aesthetic, emotional states, and they are fascinating to understand. The beauty found in art and nature can be so intense that sometimes you just have to pause and take it in, but that's not all that happens. Emotions are only a part of the effect aesthetic experiences have on us, but they play a significant role in the transformation art offers.

Aesthetic emotions do not motivate behaviors; instead, they create internal states of being that cultivate our overall perception.

Gazing at Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night, waking up early to watch the sunrise, reading The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera, or closing your eyes to listen to Debussy's Clair de Lune are all inexplicable experiences that awaken a storm of emotions. This is the language that connects beauty and humanity.

What are we doing during the event?

LUAN's core team will lead an immersive Live Session, a visual experiment of intense exposure to the sublime.

Join us in a journey to explore aesthetics, its delimitations, and its impact on our complex inner world. Engaging with us in this visual LUAN Live Session to overdose on beauty and experience aesthetic emotions firsthand if you are willing and brave.

Three powerful ideas for you:

  1. Aesthetic emotions are provoked by beauty, and they are different from regular emotions.

  2. Beauty impacts the quality of interaction and connection.

  3. Aesthetic emotions motivate our tendencies to be surrounded by aesthetic objects and sceneries; in other words, observing beauty becomes a habit.
